How can I increase my confidence and self-esteem?
This question has been on my mind for quite some time. I remember I wanted to have more self-confidence when I began my personal development journey. I wanted to enter a room without feeling anxious about my own presence. I wanted to be able to hold myself up without feeling like my body is going to start shaking or sweating. For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of feeling like I am in charge of my life no matter what would happen around me. Even though I feel confident enough, there are still moments when I feel as though I must prove something to myself or others. However, I also feel like I have mastered my life to some extent due to the level of confidence I gained in myself and the decisions I took to change every aspect of my life. I now feel in control of my destiny and thoughts every day.
But this wasn't an overnight process. As I reflected on who I am and how I can move forward, I evolved personally and emotionally. My realization was that I had to stop criticizing myself. Nevertheless, much work remained. I developed a strategy for increasing my self-esteem by celebrating daily wins, no matter how big or small they were. Additionally, I made it a habit to just celebrate who I was.
Celebrate yourself
Something magical happens within yourself as soon as you start celebrating even the most common aspects of yourself. Celebrating does not mean putting on a show for other people to see how much you have achieved. It means self-celebrating by acknowledging who you are and what you have accomplished because you truly deserve it. The mere fact that you've made it to where you are deserves every moment you spend celebrating. If you directly or indirectly impact the lives of other people, you deserve acknowledgment. No matter if you are a coach, trainer, business consultant, or an employee that has just discovered his/her purpose in life, or whether you are still searching for your identity, you deserve to feel that you are making a difference. Because you are.
Every day should be a celebration. You should celebrate your kindness to a stranger and what you have done for someone else. If you are someone who prefers to focus on what others need rather than on what you need, it can be difficult to appreciate yourself. As a result, it is even more critical that you start recognizing your greatness, your values, and celebrating your successes. I want to encourage you to celebrate your power, your strength, and all your accomplishments. It is simply a matter of celebrating who you are! It is safe to say that you have already started your quest to develop yourself if you are reading these words. It matters not what you achieve, but that you want something more, and that's what you should focus on. My goal is to help you design the vision of your life in the way that is best for you.
It is in your power to do so, believe me. Your life is your creation. Soon, you will feel this way if you repeat it daily to yourself. Affirmations are essential to your growth. As long as you honour yourself, you'll soon succeed in what you desire. Whenever we are experiencing something, such as an emotion or a feeling, we tend to overlook what is occurring at that very moment. In many ways, this is how we tend to take things for granted. In times of loss or passing by, we realize how much we had on our hands and how much more we would be willing to give to have it back. It's important not to wait until you lose sight, and definitely not until you regret not being able to notice an important moment.
Celebrate everything you have accomplished and everything you will accomplish in the years to come.
