Identify your WHY

motivation Jun 13, 2020

In case you missed the previous two posts on setting expectations and designing a plan to achieve them, let me share in a few words where we can start if we wish to change our life.

  • First, we analyze where we are now in our life, at this precise moment in time and where we would like to be, what is working, and what is not in the different areas of our life.
  • Second, we set up goals: what would you like to achieve in 10 years, 5 years, 1 year from now? Once some first ideas are in place, we make a plan to set up actions we can follow.

How did you do so far? What is the area of your life that is most challenging? Where do you need more help? Which is the area where you don’t manage to keep yourself motivated? The answer to these questions will help you understand the reason you are not getting the life you are dreaming for. You can have a look at the previous articles here: https://www.mydesigntomorrow.com/blog?tag=vision and https://www.mydesigntomorrow.com/blog/make-a-plan

I promised to talk this week about motivation. I know some days are more difficult than others, less motivating, or with less energy. Oxymoron as this may sound, ‘difficult’ days are our biggest opportunity to learn and grow. I learn to love these days and take the best out of them. These are precisely the days when you need to push yourself. Rest assured: You are stronger than your negative thoughts if you have a precise objective, a good ‘why’. What I mean by this is that you must set up a ‘why’ for yourself. Why do you want to lose weight, why do you want a promotion, why do you want to win more money? The ‘why’ is important because it will be giving you strength when you will be feeling that you have no energy to keep going. However, your ‘why’ should not be dependent on others' opinions. Your ‘why’ must come from the inside.

How do we identify whether our ‘why’ comes from inside? It takes a lot of reflection, on who you are, what are your values, what are your needs, followed by filling the gap you feel inside. Would you like to learn more about how to do it? Please have a look at our Empowering Mindset offer where we are going through all the steps to help you fill in all these gaps of appreciation, love, respect, and inner peace.

Until then, give it a go, reflect on your ‘why’.

We are stronger together!
